Time to reminisce about a mesmerizing white wedding here in Los Cabos. There’s something timeless about white sand, crashing waves, and good tequila. For New Yorkers Caroline Froehlich and Luke Byrnes, that meant a destination wedding in Los Cabos was the perfect way to say “I do.”
The Basics
Bride: Caroline Froehlich (now Byrnes)
Groom: Luke Byrnes
Wedding Date: February 8, 2025
Location: La Playita & Comal at Chileno Bay
Guest Count: 138
Planner: Ximena Perez, Amy Abbott Events

How They Met
Caroline and Luke met at Columbia Business School in August 2018. What began as a grad school friendship quickly evolved into something more—and six years later, they found themselves planning a multi-day celebration in one of the most scenic corners of Mexico.
The Proposal
In January 2024, Luke proposed during a weekend getaway at Wildflower Farms in upstate New York. “It was cozy, quiet, and perfect,” Caroline shared.

The Venues
Their wedding weekend unfolded across several stunning Cabo venues. The welcome party took place at Acre Resort, where guests enjoyed a vibrant outdoor setting surrounded by palms. For the ceremony, Caroline and Luke chose La Playita at Chileno Bay—an elegant beachfront space with a flower-lined aisle and a white platform just above the sand. The reception was held at Comal, also at Chileno Bay, with the added benefit of an on-site after-party.
Caroline noted that they loved the vibe and style of the venues: “We wanted something already beautiful on its own, without needing to add much. Chileno’s aesthetic is exactly that.”

The Vision
“We didn’t really have a set theme—we just wanted everything to be elegant, fun, and to reflect who we are as a couple,” Caroline said. Their top priority? Making sure their guests had the time of their lives.
With a color palette of white and light blue, the ceremony design featured lush florals, a full flower arch, and a chic white aisle platform. For the reception, blue and white table settings, custom menus, and romantic centerpieces brought everything together.

Luxe Bride Moment
Caroline’s walk down the flower-lined aisle at La Playita Beach, arm in arm with her father as the waves crashed behind them and the live strings played Canon in D, was an unforgettable moment of elegance and emotion. The coastal backdrop, white platform, and sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez created a breathtaking entrance that captured the essence of her wedding vision.
The Personal Touches
The couple designed custom welcome bags and hats, and their after-parties were legendary. They included an espresso martini shot cart, his and hers cocktails (Cucumber Vodka for her, Humo de Mezcal for him), and even walked out to the Love Island theme song.

The Bride
Caroline wore a stunning lace mermaid Pronovias gown with a sweetheart neckline. She paired it with a matching Pronovias veil, Jimmy Choo heels, and a diamond tennis necklace and bracelet. For the reception, she changed into a white crystal-covered mini dress by Loveshackfancy and swapped her heels for white Common Project sneakers.

The Groom
Luke wore a custom black tux and velvet slippers. He completed his look with a white boutonniere to match the wedding’s clean aesthetic.
The Wedding Party
Bridesmaids wore light blue Show Me Your Mumu dresses, and got ready in light blue PJs and fuzzy slippers with monogrammed initials. Groomsmen wore black tuxes with velvet slippers to match Luke’s look.

The Ceremony
Caroline walked down the aisle with her father, Bill Froehlich, to a live string rendition of “Canon in D.” The ceremony featured readings from Caroline’s best friend and Luke’s brother-in-law, with a classic recessional to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”

The Reception
Dinner included a corn truffle chowder, followed by grilled seabass, filet, or chicken. For dessert, the couple opted for a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and white floral accents.
The music was provided by Ben Mallare Entertainment, with the band playing their must-have songs including “Sweet Caroline” and a rousing Hora set. First dance: “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac. Caroline danced with her dad to “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins, and Luke danced with his mom to Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young.”
Guests kept the party going thanks to the espresso martini cart and dance floor energy.

The Honeymoon
The newlyweds planned a relaxing honeymoon split between St. Barths and Puerto Rico.
Words Of Wisdom
“Planning isn’t always fun, but it will all be worth it in the end.”
