A Mexico City Wedding & San Hipolito Exconvent
Getting married in Mexico City is an experience like no other. The city’s vibrant energy, grand architecture, and rich cultural history set the perfect tone for Nilu and Ali’s wedding weekend. From the glamorous atmosphere to the incredible food and world-class hospitality, every element contributed to an elevated and unforgettable celebration.
San Hipolito Exconvent was the ideal venue, balancing historical charm with modern luxury. The couple wanted a grand indoor setting that could be transformed into an enchanting experience, and this space offered just that—with its sweeping arches, rich history, and the ability to bring their vision to life with dramatic drapery and lush florals.
Having a planner who truly knows the city, the culture, and the language was invaluable. Carena Trampe of Amy Abbott Events was hands-on, devoted, and incredibly detailed, ensuring that every moment felt seamless. From navigating local vendors to incorporating Persian traditions into the celebration, her expertise made all the difference.
Luxe Bride Experience Moment
“There was something surreal about standing at the entrance, taking in the candlelit glow, the lush florals surrounding the ceremony space, and the dramatic drapery framing the aisle. Walking toward Ali, surrounded by the people we love, in the heart of Mexico City, felt like pure magic.”

The Ceremony & The Sofreh
The ceremony was pure romance, set against a backdrop of dramatic drapery and lush florals. Unlike the reception, where greenery played a major role, this part of the evening was all about luxurious floral installations that enveloped the space in beauty.
A stunning Gypsophila (baby’s breath) installation wrapped around their Persian ceremony table, or Sofreh Aghd, which was a deeply meaningful part of the day.
The Sofreh was beautifully arranged with symbolic elements representing love, prosperity, and happiness—and what made it even more meaningful was that Nilu’s aunts played a key role in helping to set it up. Their involvement brought an even greater sense of tradition, family, and significance to the moment, making it one of the most cherished parts of the wedding.

The Reception
After the vows, the party moved into full celebration mode, and the reception was nothing short of spectacular.
Dramatic Decor: The reception space was filled with lush greenery, towering trees, and cascading vines, giving the space an ethereal and grand atmosphere.
Tablescapes: Instead of traditional floral centerpieces, Nilu opted for a romantic candlelit design that ran the length of the tables, adding warmth and sophistication.
Escort Cards & Place Cards: Escort cards were displayed on a mirrored table, surrounded by hundreds of candles, making for a stunning visual moment.
Each card was adorned with pressed dried flowers, giving a delicate, personal touch.
Place cards were elegantly handwritten on the back of each menu.

Persian & Mexican Dessert Station & Late-Night Bites
The dessert station was a beautiful fusion of Persian and Mexican flavors, offering guests the best of both worlds. Delicate rosewater pastries, baklava, luxe chocolates, fresh fruit, and fragrant Persian tea were presented alongside classic Mexican confections, creating an indulgent and culturally rich finale to the meal.
As the night continued, late-night bites were brought out to keep the party going well into the early morning hours.

The Music & The Energy
This wedding was pure glamour, energy, and elegance from start to finish. The moment guests entered the reception, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode—elevated, high-energy, and filled with love.
Live Music Set the Scene: A mix of live musicians and an incredible DJ set created the perfect balance between elegance and an all-out party.
Dance Floor Takeover: DJ Eddie Makabi knew exactly how to keep the crowd hyped, delivering a perfect blend of Persian beats, international hits, and club favorites that had guests dancing until sunrise.
The Fashion
Nilu stunned in a New White gown from Loho Bride—a modern yet timeless choice that exuded grace and sophistication. The structured silhouette and intricate detailing felt perfectly at home in San Hipolito Exconvent’s historic setting.
She paired the gown with Dior heels, completing her effortlessly elegant bridal look.
Ali complemented the bride’s elegance with a custom Giorgio Armani suit and Dior shoes, looking every bit as stylish for their grand celebration.
