An Acre Resort Wedding
For Kelsey and Blake, they couldn’t imagine celebrating their wedding weekend anywhere but Los Cabos, a destination that had long held a special place in their hearts. The couple envisioned a celebration filled with florals and design moments that were reflective of a Baja sunset.
Surrounded by 125 of their closest family and friends, Kelsey and Blake exchanged vows at Acre Resort’s Los Agaves venue in San José del Cabo, one of their favorite restaurants, where they hosted both their ceremony and reception. The festivities began with a beautiful welcome party at Solaz Resort, where guests gathered along Baja Beach and the Calypso Terrace to kick off the wedding weekend.

How They Met
To take it back to the very beginning, Kelsey and Blake met at a dive bar in San Francisco during a mutual friend’s going-away party. Blake was playing pool when Kelsey walked up and told him she recognized him from a dating app. Their conversation went on far longer than either expected, and afterward Blake asked their mutual friend for Kelsey’s number.
After a few months of persistence, they went on their first date, and it was history ever since!

A Successful Surprise Proposal
According to Blake, Kelsey is incredibly difficult to surprise. However, he was determined to truly catch her off guard. So he staged a totally fake scenario to throw her off. He claimed he’d lost his wallet at the gym and showed her a fake text thread from someone who said they’d found it. The finder, a supposed dog-walker, wanted to meet at the benches in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
When they arrived, Blake coaxed Kelsey out of the car, revealed the wallet he’d had all along, and got down on one knee with the Golden Gate behind them. She said yes, and the surprises kept coming. Blake had flown Kelsey’s parents to San Francisco, and both families were waiting when the couple got home. The next day, he threw a surprise engagement party for their closest friends and family.

The Significance of the Venue
Acre had long been one of the couple’s favorite restaurants in Cabo, so it felt like a natural choice. When they saw the Los Agaves venue, they knew it captured the true Baja aesthetic they had in mind.
They loved that the space felt entirely private to their wedding, and that the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception each had their own distinct area while still feeling cohesive and easy for guests to move between.

The Design
Kelsey and Blake wanted a look that reflected Cabo’s desert-meets-tropical vibe. Color was a must from the start, and they couldn’t think of a better palette than the Cabo sunset itself, with pinks, corals, oranges, and soft yellows. To balance all that color, they leaned into the natural, organic textures that come so easily in Baja.

The Fashion
Kelsey wore the stunning “Emory” gown by Danielle Frankel. It featured a strapless, drop-waist bodice and a structured mini skirt beneath a long, draped silk-chiffon train. It was perfectly tied together with a satin bow.
Blake wore a classic black tuxedo from Suit Supply. The groomsmen matched him in classic black tuxedos, and the moms and sisters wore varying shades of pink.

The Ceremony
The couple exchanged vows against a verdant backdrop of tropical foliage, with florals in warm coral, apricot, blush, and ivory hues.
The vibrant blooms echoed their Baja-inspired color palette, drawing inspiration from the serene tones of a Cabo sunset. The result was an intimate ceremony that beautifully complemented the landscape.

The Reception
After an al fresco cocktail hour just outside the reception space, the couple’s most memorable moment came when they walked into the reception for their first dance and the sky perfectly matched their florals, exactly as they had pictured it.
Their favorite detail was the hand-carved wooden maracas at every guest’s place setting. Guests shook them all night, and the couple is still receiving photos and videos from friends who took theirs home as souvenirs.
Walking into candlelight, music, maracas, and a sky that matched their colors was a true “pinch me” moment for Kelsey & Blake.

Advice for Future Couples
Kelsey and Blake’s advice is to stay true to your vision. Friends, family, and social media will offer plenty of opinions that might make you second-guess your choices. Don’t let them sway you; seeing your vision come to life is worth it.
