A wedding mood board (aka vision board) plays a pivotal role in the world of wedding planning. Interestingly, potential and current clients always want to know how the planning process starts. How do we even begin to plan their dream wedding aesthetic?
The pre-planning stage is completely overwhelming. Our clients are so busy in their day-to-day lives; they don’t have hours to dig through Pinterest and Bridal websites. Typically, our brides have a clear and concise idea of what they want things to look like, but they need help getting there. No worries friend, we got you! Let’s dive into the details on how to get your wedding mood board started!
WHEN ART BECOMES LIFE
Creating a wedding mood board is like painting a picture of your wedding’s vibe and aesthetic. It’s where we blend your ideas, inspirations, and personal style into a cohesive visual masterpiece. Your wedding mood board is truly the epicenter of the wedding. Understanding the vision and aesthetic of your event weekend is vital, and a well-thought-out wedding mood board is key.
The process evolves as the planning goes and usually the wedding mood board will be presented in its first draft 5 months before the wedding and sometimes sooner.
As wedding planners, we take the task seriously. We want to know what makes your heart skip a beat when it comes to decor, flowers, and ambiance. Your trust in us is key, as we guide you through the maze of choices to create an event that’s uniquely yours.

THE HISTORY OF OUR CREATIVE PROCESS
In the past, the planning process was so much more mainstream. Clients would pin things they liked on a Pinterest board, filling them with snapshots of past weddings that resonated with them. We would deep-dive into each image, dissecting what catches the client’s eye. Whether it’s the colors, the florals, or the overall setup. This process would be the start of the mood board.
Now fast forward to extremely focused clients who want to have not only work/life balance, but also work, life and wedding balance. Many of our clients prefer to send a few photos for inspiration and also to really dive into things that reflect the couple’s energy, vibe and aesthetic. They are looking for curated, and customized impressions. This is a wonderful approach for us, as our team have hearts full of creative wanderlust and design thoughts. For us, no two weddings are the same and we love the ability to maximize our design creativity.
INSPIRATION FOR A WEDDING MOOD BOARD
To gain inspiration and motivation when creating our clients’ mood board, we tend to move from the mainstream wedding planning sites. We look for our muse in world travel, museums, art and interior design magazines. From fashion runways to cozy home interiors, every source adds a layer to your unique vision. Every inspirational piece of the event puzzle is added to the mood board, helping us to construct a completely magical affair.

With our inspirational mood board in hand, there’s no room for blank-canvas syndrome or last-minute surprises. It’s all about less stress and more excitement as we bring your dream wedding to life, one carefully chosen detail at a time.
The before and after is simply BREATHTAKING.
