When an art director bride with an eye for detail, marries a finance director with a love for celebration, the result is a wedding that’s equal parts chic, thoughtful, and full of joy. Natalie Perez and Aaron Shaw brought their vision to life in San Jose del Cabo, combining modern organic aesthetics with rich cultural roots.

HOW THEY MET
Natalie and Aaron first matched on Hinge in September 2020 in Dallas, Texas. It didn’t take long to discover they lived across the street from one another and shared mutual friends—and favorite hangout spots. From serendipity to soulmates.
THE PROPOSAL
On a sunny Friday afternoon in November 2023, Aaron conspired with Natalie’s boss to give her the afternoon off. What followed was a nostalgic walk through their favorite Dallas park, coffee at their go-to shop, and a romantic sunset proposal in a private garden at the Dallas Arboretum. The evening ended with a surprise backyard celebration with family and friends.

THE VENUE
After getting engaged, Natalie visited Flora Farms on a work trip and instantly fell in love. “It was like our vision board come to life,” she said. When Aaron visited with her months later, the decision was made. From its lush scenery to its world-class food, Flora Farms became the anchor for their destination wedding vision.
THE VISION
Inspired by artisan textiles, natural tones, and her family’s Mexican heritage, Natalie embraced a modern organic style. The couple chose a warm palette of rust, sage, rose, and beige and focused on textures, terracotta accents, and cultural details throughout.

THE DESIGN
The ceremony was framed by two large altar pillars and oversized terracotta pots filled with florals in dahlias, roses, and carnations. Reception tables were adorned with rattan chargers, hand-painted clay salad plates, terracotta napkins, and papel picado-inspired menus. Beige candlesticks and clay vases added warmth and depth to the tablescape.
PERSONAL TOUCHES
- Custom drink stirrers featuring their pets in sombreros (a hit at the welcome party!).
- Matchboxes and koozies designed by the bride.
- A year-long collaborative playlist for every wedding moment—from ceremony to last dance.
- Vows shared privately over coffee the morning of the wedding.

THE BRIDE
Natalie wore a square-neckline, romantic lace A-line gown by Flora Bridal. She accessorized with Catbird’s Pearl Moonflower earrings, Dolce Vita’s Kanika Pearl heels, lace sleeves, and a two-tiered veil by Madame Tulle. Her outfit change? A champagne fringe halter mini dress by Simkhai paired with Dan Prost cowboy boots.
THE GROOM
Aaron opted for a custom Italian black herringbone suit by Chris Casseb and classic Tecovas Wyatt cowboy boots to tie in the vibe.

THE WEDDING PARTY
Bridesmaids each chose their own dress within the wedding palette, creating a personalized and stunning ensemble. Groomsmen wore classic black suits from The BLK TUX.
THE CEREMONY
The couple privately exchanged vows that morning and incorporated pieces of those promises (and a few inside jokes) into the ceremony. Aaron even included a custom poem. Natalie’s father walked her down the aisle to a piano version of “Light My Love” by Greta Van Fleet. The full studio version played as their recessional.

THE RECEPTION
Guests dined on Flora Farms’ famously fresh cuisine:
Starters: Whipped Ricotta, Esquites, Tuna Tartare.
First Course: Handmade Burrata & Salad.
Mains: Seared Catch of the Day, Herb-roasted Chicken.
Sides: Grilled Asparagus, Crispy Potatoes.
Dessert: Churros, Brown Butter Cake, Espresso Panna Cotta.
Late Night Snack: Pizza
Signature cocktails included a Smoky Mezcal Hibiscus Margarita for her and an Oaxacan Old Fashioned for him.
The couple’s grand entrance song was “Keep Moving” by Jungle, followed by a heartfelt toast to their guests. DJ Alex kept the energy high, and CO2 guns turned the dance floor into a full-on celebration. A cigar roller and content creator from Ever After captured the party in motion.

THE HONEYMOON
Natalie and Aaron stayed in Cabo for a relaxing mini-moon and plan to take a longer European trip for their first anniversary.
WORDS OF WISDOM
“Your energy will set the tone. Stay on the dance floor, be present, and your guests will match you. It’s your party—live it up.”
